Plans by the business development office in Parma, Italy, to convert Midtown Plaza into a high-end Italian-themed retail center have apparently died.
"There were some management changes in their government's offices and their direction changed," Carlos Carballada, Rochester's economic development commissioner, said last week. "Plus, I really think they were having difficulty lining up the retailers willing to make the investment."
Is anything else on the horizon for Midtown? "We're always looking," said Carballada.

At least this time dreaming and thinking big didn't cost as much as the fast ferry.
