One of the problems with picking a relatively unknown person to run for high office is that you don't know what you'll find when you start looking.
John McCain picked Sarah Palin as his running mate. And now the media have started doing their research. I'm not sure whether John McCain will be upset by what they find, but some voters may be.
News had already broken that Palin is being investigated over the firing of Alaska's public safety commissioner. Apparently, he isn't the only person to have paid with his job when he disagreed with Palin. Today's New York Times reports that as mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, Palin wanted certain books banned at the town library. The librarian resisted and was fired.
And a Times editorial today fleshes out another side of Palin. In a speech to a church in Wasilla,, the editorial said, Palin referred to the war in Iraq as "a task that is from God," and "said it was 'God's Will' that the federal government contribute to a $30 billion gas pipeline she wants built in Alaska."
George Bush believes that God put him in the White House. Now we have a vice-presidential candidate who is confident that God is micromanaging pork barrel.

What silly propaganda...the first women nominated since Ferraro in 1984, and the liberals are trashing her and demeaning her. This nonsense will only drive people to vote McCain and Palin. The GOP here says that the phone calls to wish to volunteer are blowing up phones all over the place. The McCain campaign is on fire and the Obama sycophants are in full panic mode. Is it because Palin actually has MEN who like her and her style, as opposed to Hillary and her grating voice, and lack of reality (Bosnia gunfire)? Palin is a female candidate with male drawing power, something Hillary never had and never will have as long as she lives. Palin is the future of feminism... a feminism where women need not be pantsuited, short haired, and lack makeup in order to be taken seriously as a candidate for national office. This is a wakeup call to the liberals...Hurricane Palin is coming and Monroe County is going McCain in 2008!!!

Smart women will not support a candidate just because they has mamary glands. Sarah Palin is not only supremely unqualified, but as a creationist and an evangelical, her dogma is destructive and dangerous. She is nothing more than a viper.
If John McCain thought for one moment that adding Palin to the ticket would woo women, he has sadly misjudged us.
If America votes in McCain/Palin, they can look for yet another four years of losing the trust and the respect of the rest of the world--with good reason. America will be looked upon as a buffoon.

I say give her a chance ... look at the loosers we have in office today and look what they have done with our great country. What do we have to loose ... leave her alone.
