A New York State Supreme Court judge could soon conclude the final chapter in a rift between the Rochester Historical Society's Board of Trustees and a small group of vigilant society members and residents who oppose the sale of Woodside. | The board has filed a petition with the court to approve the sale of its historic headquarters at 485 East Avenue. | Society members approved the sale 300 to 10, says society director Meredith Keller. | But opponents of the sale argue that the board has not acted in accordance with the state's guidelines for managing a public museum and that the 200,000 artifacts in the society's collection are in danger of disbursement. | The society has been planning to move the collection to the Rundel Library, but critics are concerned that the space will not accommodate the entire collection, requiring some of it to be sold at auction. | The court date is at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, at the Hall of Justice, 99 Exchange Boulevard. | Critics of the sale say that they will attend the court hearing to try to make their objections known.
