It's where they made their plans for the neighborhood and "solved all the problems of the world," says Lucille Ferrari, widow of Frank Ferrari. | For almost 40 years, the Ferraris owned and operated Ferrari Park Exxon, later Ferrari Park Service at the intersection of Goodman and Park Avenues. Frank Ferrari was a neighborhood leader and longtime member of the Parks-Meigs Neighborhood Association. | "He loved the neighborhood, loved the people, and the people loved him," Lucille Ferrari says. | Frank Ferrari's office was located in what is now the circular part of the Great Harvest Bread Company building, 210 Park Avenue. | "We had our strategy meetings there all the time," says Tom LaDuca, president of the neighborhood association. In Frank Ferrari's honor, the association will name that part of the building "Frank's Office," complete with pictures and a plaque. A ribbon-cutting is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, October 11. | "There are still a lot of neighbors who knew Frank, brought their cars there, and knew him as a community worker," LaDuca says. | Ferrari Park Service closed in 1997. | Frank Ferrari died three years ago at age 75.
