On its website today, the Democrat & Chronicle reported that its parent company, Gannett, will "make most of its US employees, including Chief Executive Officer Craig Dubow, take one week of unpaid leave this quarter to help save money."

The story says that Gannett will ask union workers to participate in the program, as well.

The D&C cut 59 positions -- 14 from the newsroom -- late last year and has been making significant changes to its format, including cutting its editorial section in half.
