Governor David Paterson will be in Rochester this afternoon to make an announcement on the Midtown Plaza project. The announcement is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at City Hall.
The state has previous committed to spending up to $65 million to prepare the Midtown site for Paetec headquarters. Paterson reconfirmed that commitment in a visit to Rochester shortly after taking over for former Governor Eliot Spitzer early last year.
Rochester Mayor Bob Duffy has repeatedly assured the public and the press that the state's financial commitment is solid and that Paetec is still a go, despite a stream of bad financial news coming out of that company.
