Given the number and severity of scandals that have infected our community recently - Robutrad, Renaissance Square, the Greece Police mess - we thought it only fitting to present our 2009 election preview in a tabloid, "the City Newspaper Spoiler." (A drinking game might have worked, too. Take a shot every time a former Greece police officer or Robutrad employee gets indicted.)
The Spoiler includes a unique look at Mayor Bob Duffy's first term - he has only a write-in challenger this year - and a comprehensive dissection of the Monroe County Legislature, which includes endorsements.
There's tabloid fun, too, including astrological readings of the candidates, compiled by local astrologer Mohan Koparkar. There's also a photo quiz: match the candidates with their high-school photos. Hurrah to those candidates brave enough to participate.
Sorry, no Michael Jackson, Gosselins, or Octomom here. We thought we'd spare your breakfast.
