Wegmans has finally reached a long-sought-after deal to buy the Fountain Bleu hair salon; the lone holdout in the company's plans to build a new East Avenue store. A Wegmans spokeswoman would not give details of the agreement.
Wegmans has been after the Fountain Bleu property for years. But just a few months ago, it looked like Wegmans had given up, as the company released designs for the new store excluding the Fountain Bleu parcel. New designs incorporating that parcel will be submitted to City Council in the beginning or middle of April, says Wegmans spokeswoman Jo Natale.

Well crap, I was rooting for Fountain Bleu. Here's hoping they made out like bandits.

I love it!!! The Fountain Bleu held out for their price and I imagine they came pretty close. The value of that business is based solely upon how badly someone wants it.

Good for you Fountain Bleu for not just caving to pressure right away. I hope you made a nice profit out of the deal. As for Wegmans, I truly hope they build a store that keeps the neighborhood in mind. Remember where your roots lie Wegmans!
