The Community Education Task Force sent letters today to city school board members Cynthia Elliott and Allen Williams, asking for their resignations. Elliott and Williams are supportive of Mayor Bob Duffy's push for mayoral control legislation that would eliminate the school board and put the mayor in control of city schools.
CETF opposes mayoral control and in a written statement said that Elliott and Allen are unqualified to represent voters interests "based on their public calls for eliminating the democratically elected board."
CETF is a coalition of parents, students, educators, and activists.
