Before he joined the Rochester Broadway Theatre League, Don Jeffries caught a summer production of "Rent" at the Auditorium Theatre. "I left at intermission because it was so hot," he says. "It had to be over 100 in the theater." | In the past, RBTL closed the theater in the summer and sponsored events in the Finger Lakes Performing Arts Center - now known as CMAC - instead. But with the Broadway season expanding into the summer and the chance to lure more big-name shows like "Wicked," RBTL has decided to air condition the Auditorium Theatre. | A $30,000 state grant will cover about 10 percent of the cost of the project, says Jeffries, RBTL's president.
