Memorial Day events
Members of Rochester's faith community will hold a Memorial Day service of remembrance for victims of the Iraq war on Monday,
May 26, at the Sister Cities Bridge at Genesee Crossroads Park (behind the Rochester Plaza Hotel, formerly the Crowne Plaza). The service begins at 9 a.m. The parade is at 11 a.m.
Penfield's town center
The Penfield Town Board will hold a community meeting on Thursday, May 22, to discuss projects in the Four Corners area. The meeting is at 7 p.m., at the Penfield Fire Station No. 1, 1838 Penfield Road.
Will your electronic vote count?
Progressives in Action will hold a discussion on electronic voting and screen the documentary film "Hacking Democracy" on Tuesday, May 27, at the Pittsford Community Library, 24 State Street, at 6 p.m.
School board meeting
The Rochester City School District's Board of Education will hold its monthly business meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 131 West Broad Street. Those who wish to address the board need to call 262-8258 by noon on Wednesday, May 21.
Rochester's skyline makeover
The Rochester Downtown Development Corporation will present "Downtown Rising: Skyline Changing Projects," which will look at how headquarters for Paetec, ESL Federal Credit Union, new designs for Renaissance Square, and a proposed St. John Fisher law school will transform the skyline. The event is on Thursday, May 29, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Reservations required: 546-6920 or email rddc@rddc.org.
Budget review
City Council will hold a review and work session on the city's proposed new budget. The meeting is at 4:30 p.m., on Thursday, May 22, in Council Chambers at City Hall, 30 Church Street.
