Metromix, a joint venture between Gannett and Tribune Co., has launched in Rochester. The web-only guide to local restaurants, bars, clubs, events, concerts, and movies has been plugged heavily in the Insider. Todd Clausen, who has been a copy editor-designer at the Insider, is listed as "producer" on the Metromix-Rochester website. | Metromix operates in almost two-dozen cities nationwide, including Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and Detroit. | Word is that Metromix could be in more than 40 markets by the end of the year. | Meanwhile, the Insider's staff seems to be vanishing before our eyes. Editor Mike Johansson's name no longer appears on the masthead and there have been fewer Insiders to meet lately in the "Meet the Insiders" page of Gannett's free, youth-oriented weekly. (Every week Insider staff respond to a deep, probing question like, "What's your favorite line of clothing?") | Metromix and the Insider appear to target the same demographic. | How local will Metromix-Rochester be?
