TOWLER: Cowards attack Andrews, too

By Mary Anna Towler on September 14, 2009

Late last week, I noted that School Board member Cynthia Elliott was being attacked through anonymous campaign flyers sent to Democratic voters. The same is true of County Legislator Carrie Andrews.

Andrews is running for re-election, and registered Democrats in her 21st district have been receiving flyers with misleading information - and with no indication of who is sending the material, or who paid for them.

I hope Jan Bowers, who is challenging Andrews in tomorrow's primary, will speak out against them. And I hope someone with knowledge of the source of this stuff will blow the whistle.

Interestingly, the anti-Elliott flyers were amateurish, printed on paper. The anti-Andrews stuff is more professional, on card stock, bearing all the marks of an organized political campaign.

As I said about the anti-Elliott flyers, this stuff is cheap, mean, despicable, undemocratic, and cowardly.
