Bill Pritchard's a Penfield boy now

Bill Pritchard not only left City Council last year, he left the entire city. On the local blog Smugtown Beacon, Pritchard writes that he is now a resident of Penfield. Pritchard was vice president of Council when he decided not to seek re-election last year.

Pritchard's comments concern the mayoral control proposal. While not directly endorsing the idea, Pritchard does say that it's time for a new direction.

"During the Council's hearings on the district's budget, a dozen or so city school children were paraded in front of us, led by some parents, but also some of their teachers," he writes. "The image of such gross manipulation of these children, assisted by their teachers, has stayed with me to this day and is one that defines my opposition to RTA and NYSUT," he writes, referring to the Rochester and New York State teachers unions.
