Eric Massa was the focus of the first half-hour Glenn Beck's show this morning, which offered a prelude to the former Congress member's appearance later today on Beck's Fox News show.
Massa's allegations against Democratic leaders led Beck to reach out to him. Massa claims that Democratic leaders used a sexual harassment complaint and investigation against him to force him from his seat. The reason, he claims, is because he wouldn't vote for health care reform legislation. Massa resigned his seat yesterday, a move he's also attributing to a cancer scare.
The conservative Beck applied a bit of enemy-combatant logic to having the liberal Massa, a Democrat who favors single-payer health care, appear on his talk show. If an Al-Quaeda operative came to the US with intelligence, asked Beck, should we dismiss it just because he's an enemy? Massa can "testify against the system," Beck said.
"Is he saying it because it's true?" Beck said a little later in the program. "I don't care what his motivations are."
Beck seems especially interested in what Massa has to say about Rahm Emanuel, President Obama's aggressive chief of staff. Emanuel figured prominently in Massa's claim that Democratic leaders are trying to force him out of his seat. He's also been a de facto whip as Democrats try to pass health care reform legislation.
Beck's television program this afternoon airs at 5 p.m.

What's most disturbing about Massa's comments is that they highlight the lengths that Emanuel and Obama will go to in order to see their unpopular and unrealistic health care agenda forced upon the American people. ..Mr. Beck is correct to air what is happening behind closed doors.

How Rorschach! All will see in this story just what they want to see. SOMETHING's up, but we'll just have to wait a minute or two to find out what.
