Iowa Rep. ponders revolution

Disagreeing with Barack Obama's policy is one thing, but some Republicans seem to have completely lost their wits.

The Huffington Post reports that Representative Steven King of Iowa is likening the Obama administration and Democratic-controlled Congress to communist-controlled Eastern Europe. He made the charge, HuffPo says, in a speech earlier today to Tea Partiers in Washington. And the website says that in an interview afterward, King suggested that if Americans staged a peaceful revolution against the federal government, it would be fine with him.

Asked if he was comparing the US currently to "Prague under communist rule," King answered: "Oh yeah, it is very, very close. It is the nationalization of our liberty and the federal government taking our liberty over. So there are a lot of similarities there."

That's amazing. I wonder if he can be arrested for treason.
When President Bush told a bold faced lie about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction and signed in to law the Patriot Act, which violated most of our Constitutional rights, where was Mr. King. That was more like the federal government taking our liberties than having a majority in both houses of congress acting on what the voters have mandated.

Arrest Obama for treason? For what? Winning an election? OK.... I think the main point that speaks to the fact that Rep. King and his followers are not only certified paranoids, but also gullible half wits who wouldn't know history if it bit them on the rear end, but they are willful liars. Case in point? The "velvet revolution"" that Kind aspires to advocate---- it included UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE as part of that revolution!
