Our brave legislators ban earmarks

This should be interesting.

Republicans in the House of Representatives have agreed to ban earmark requests, one-upping House Democrats, who had promised to ban them for for-profit companies.

It's a good show. Now we'll see what their colleagues in the Senate do.

I'm all for them banning earmarks. And as painful as it would be for Rochester, I'd love for New York legislators to follow suit and ban member items.

Not gonna happen, but I can dream. And while I'm dreaming, how about Republicans and Democrats - in Washington and in Albany - pledging to refuse to take campaign donations?
