Steve Inskeep's NPR interview with former British Prime Minister Tony Blair this morning was fascinating - and dismaying.
I guess I had bought into the myth that Blair was persuaded against his will, or trapped, somehow, into supporting the Bush administration's Iraq policy. But no; he thought - still thinks - that the invasion was a good idea.
Even more appalling was Blair's insistence that our policies - America's and Great Britain's - don't contribute to terrorism. And that neither nation has oppressed people.

Can he really believe that there are no repercussions when the US conducts clandestine operations that overthrow governments like Chile's, sides with dictators, bombs and terrorizes civilians, and tortures people?
History tells us otherwise. And those who ignore history, as the saying goes....

Please read this current Guardian interview and learn from one of the key figures in History the rationale and the actions we need to take to make the world Safe. I hope PM Blair's insight can enlighten some closed minds.
