Senator John McCain's latest attack ad is so over the top it's absurd. We're talking loony absurd.
McCain jabs at Obama's celebrity status after Obama's European tour with images of the crowds in Berlin interspersed with Hollywood trade photos of bad girls Paris Hilton and Britney Spears.
Comparing Obama's fame to Hollywood celebrities who we've seen on TV being arrested, having sex, trolling through nightclubs, pleading with judges for custody rights, and brawling with paparazzi is a low one for McCain.
The ad tries to define Obama as an amateur, a poser with no real substance.
This is rich coming from the party that got its back up over the question of whether McCain's experience as a POW really qualified him to be president.
After seeing this ad, it's a legitimate question.
It says a lot about McCain's rotten judgment, considering good judgment is the quality he is trying to promote as his best asset.
What it doesn't explain is why McCain is polling so high. This isn't Maverick McCain that was fleetingly interesting from 2000 to 2003 when he refused to be the Republican Party's water boy.
Let's hope it's nothing more than the public's fascination with accidents because this ad signals "train wreck ahead."
John, there's a difference between fame and infamy.
