I just have to wonder how City can object to any law that tries to address a group of people that are being discriminated against for their beliefs ("George Bush Wants to Get You Pregnant," July 23).
As to the issue of life and when it begins, it is pretty straightforward. It is at the point those cells start to divide. It is no wonder that so many woman have had trouble dealing with abortions they have had, as it is nothing more than the cold-blooded murder of the most defenseless of beings.
Bush's abstinence policy is certainly crap, but let's face it: there are a lot of crap policies related to sex in our own little community. Bush's policies had at least some redeeming value in that they supported personal responsibility.
You embarrass yourself when you imply that most people believe that life starts X days after conception or after birth. If there was truth in that, the Republican Party wouldn't be winning elections the way it does.
The reality is that a good number of Americans see abortion as one of the most pathetic of crimes going.
