If you read only National Geographic magazine, you have enough information to know that humanity is running out of food, fuel, and water. We can, of course, use our armed forces to grab the last of it, but doing that will only waste time and resources and hasten the inevitable. Global warming and climate will see to it.
The timid supplication to the status quo by the Obama administration is a far cry from his bold calls for urgent, sweeping change during the election campaign. It is woefully insufficient to get the job done. Every dollar and newsbite wasted on those hopeless bailouts and mideastern wars is time and money stolen from a serious, concentrated effort to develop a post-fossil-fuel agriculture and economy. It is time and money stolen from forging the global cooperation desperately needed to stabilize the planetary temperature. Time is short. Get informed and get on Obama's ass.
