In reference to the letter from James E. Knight of Spencerport with regard to Israel (The Mail, January 20), the US, and health care, it's unfortunate that anti-Semitism is alive and well at City Newspaper.

Rebecca Jaffarian's one-sentence letter to the editor is nothing more than a verbal drive-by shooting. Ms. Jaffarian used a powerful adjective to describe my recent LTE and the Rochester City Paper itself. She used the term, "Anti-Semitic."
Of course, Ms. Jaffarian offered no evidence to support her vicious allegation, because there is no such evidence.
When a potent term like "anti-Semitism" is used to defame, it should be accompanied by at least a shred of credible evidence.
My LTE pointed out that state-sponsored abortions in Israel are a little-known fact. Credible estimates claim that one Israeli pregnancy in five results in an abortion. According to Friends of EFRAT Israel Charity, some 50,000 abortions are performed in Israel every year.
How can pointing out this ongoing "Holocaust" for unborn Israelis be considered "anti-Semitic"? How can generous US support for Israel's abortion mills be considered anything but covert anti-Semitism?
My LTE identified the hypocrisy in Sen. Lieberman's and Sen. Nelson's positions. The "anti-Semitic" charge is totally baseless. I demand an apology from Ms. Jaffarian.
