Josh J. Porter states that he is upset with Mrs. Clinton's admittedly disappointing failure to gain Western New York a promised 400,000 jobs (The Mail, April 16). But then he makes the mistake of giving this as a reason to vote for John McCain.

What a pity that McCain has promised to continue AdvertisementBush economic programs that have left us losing 60,000 jobs a month nationally.

The young men and women of today don't want to die in useless, illegal wars. The young men and women of America want jobs, and they want a decent wage for a decent day's work. They are no longer concerned with phony "patriotism" - they want the America they've been promised by our history books, founded in the Constitution, and grounded in the rights of men and women, the right to worship differently, to live differently, to speak differently. They want the America of the 21st Century.

They will vote for Barack Obama this November. History is not waiting for us, Josh - not for you, nor me, nor McCain, nor Clinton.
