ENTERTAINMENT: City Council should help with the DIY issue

(Regarding "Not Your Neighbor's Drunken House Party," April 30): As somebody who has been part of the Rochester music underground for the past 5 years, I have been disheartened

by the fact that the city has been trying to shut it all down just because of one violent house party. Someone should push for a City Council meeting on this issue. I think if all of us in the DIY community would join forces and make our voices heard, there might be a solution and the local scene will be cool again.
I do wish more venues in Rochester were more open to experimental and unusual music instead of pandering to the usual bar band-garage-rockabilly just to sell drinks.
