I read with interest George Grella's review of "Get Smart," and while I agree that the movie wasn't exactly a masterpiece of cinematic art, I was amused by his comment that "hardly anything in the movie suggests any basis for appeal to the young people who constitute the audience for the picture."

It depends on how young the person is. The two boys who accompanied me, ages 8 and 10, thought the movie was filled with action and excitement; we have now seen it three times. Thankfully, the adult jokes go over their heads, but they can still laugh at the slapstick - hey, you can see a guy's bare butt!

Plus, since I'm a fan of the original TV show, I can chuckle over the inside jokes, like "Yarmy International Airlines" and the Bernie Kopell cameo.
