Could it get Super Bowl-style ratings? Maybe. Arguably more anticipated than the McCain-Obama face-off is tonight's VP debate between Democrat Joe Biden and Republican Sarah Palin. It will air at 9 p.m. on all major news outlets. Look for a Tim Macaluso blog right after the debate, but if you've just gotta vent, click here to post in City's new Forums section.

Biden was a statesman full of facts and arguments, Palin was a lucid, well-rehearsed puppet that spoke in plainspeak directly to her constituents. Biden took McCain's policies to task, Palin winked and giggled and said "god bless ya'" at least three times. Who do you think won?

It's incredible to me that any so called "independent" voter could consider voting for this ticket with Sarah as a potential President of the United States. I initially hoped better communication via cable TV and the web would improve voter awareness and collective intelligence. I can't believe this candidate wouldn't have been laughed off stage by either political party at any point prior to this. Evidence is mounting that more electronic communication is not helping political awareness and must be reducing such.

Palin clearly won the debate.
A lot of topics were covered except abortion.
The finest health and education systems, the fairest immigration laws, and the soundest economy do nothing for the child who never sees the light of day!
It is a tragic irony that ‘pro-choice’ candidates have come to support homicide â€" the gravest injustice a society can tolerate â€" in the name of ‘social justice’.

Abortion is the civil rights issue of out generation.

Palin and McCain have the life issues right.
Obama/Biden will expand abortions and taxpayers will pay.
1.3 million murdered children every yr in the US alone

They both made thier points very clear. Biden is up for sale for when ever he gets the opportunity to be vice or president of the US regarless of the fact if he totally disagrees with Obama socialist views or if it's Vladimir Putin running. Biden never spoke about his own personal sucesses in the Washington except for being a single parent. Palin is true and honest, she appeared down to earth on the debate and by the way if anybody out there getting offensive about her 50 million winks she gave off during the debate don't be jelous she was winking at me! America is tired of the lies and lack of leadership in Washington especially with all three pathetic Senators running(Obama, Biden and McCain). When the dust settles I'm pritty sure WE THE PEOPLE will come to our senses and vote for the right people and not just put a wishy washy politician who can speak pritty and put our country up for sale.
Since most people that I heard said that VP's dont make a diffrence in the choice to whom which president they will vote for well here's the FACT, Obama has no experience vs. McCains so vote on that if you wish. Obama is to Palin as McCain is to Biden.

I'll give credit to Sarah Palin. She was far better than past performances and while I didn't see the deer in the headlights look on her face, she doesn't deserve any credit for her answers to the debate questions.

Actually in the first several questions, she refused to answer them and instead seemed to be stuck in some very rehearsed statements that she seemed to have on the tip of her tongue that just needed to be blurted out.

Palin made one extremely obvious mistake that the media didn't seem to notice. During the comments on gay marriage/gay rights, Palin said the following:

"But in that tolerance also, no one would ever propose, not in a McCain-Palin administration, to do anything to prohibit, say, visitations in a hospital or contracts being signed, negotiated between parties."

With this statement, Palin proves to be out of touch with reality. Palin obviously doesn't know that not allowing same sex partner visitation in hospitals IS currently a policy in most states.
