City Newspaper would like to say a big THANK YOU to the hundreds of people who came out to our Best Busker Contest Thursday, May 27, in the East End.

We had nearly 2500 votes cast for our more than 30 participating musicians. Those talented artists were:

Aaron DeRuyter, Fred "Rockin' Red" Palmer, Ben Sheridan, Beth Ely Sleboda, Bethany Robinson, Bill Ritchie, Bix DeBaise, Bob White, Christopher Wilke, Dave Paprocki, Geoffrey Saunders, Gerard Weber, Jenna Weintraub, Jesse Pryor, Jon Crocca, Karen Barber, Mark Weeg, Matt Sauer, Maynard Penlon, Mark Maynor, Peter Carpenter, Roger Kuhn, Ted Nicolosi, Tom Mark, Tivoli Mustaca, Travis Ichikawa, Cassandra Kelly, Jeff Bloom, Katie Ernst, Zach Nowak, and Jeremiah Tracy.

Special congratulations to Geoffrey Saunders, who won first prize: three hours of high-definition audio and video recording at Blackdog Recording Studios.

Second Prize ($250 gift certificate to Bernunzio Uptown Music) went to Katie Ernst, and Third Prize (year membership and a primetime performance gig at the Little) went to Tom "Pops" Mark.

Thank you also to all of the East End vendors who offered such terrific deals, and especially to Mamooche Bistro, Christ Church, and Rochester Contemporary Art Center for giving us the space to stage the event.

Tivoli age 15, and an original singer/songwriter had a great time meeting tons of people who loved her style and music, just weren't enough pics to distribute. Hope to participate next year , and possibly help with the pci situation :O)
Kudos to those who put the event on, it's a start ! Great thing to be done , it's done all over Europe, and Rochester is a great place to start it here :O)
