To all you bartenders and otherwise kindly alcohol-and-food providers: you're the bee's knees. Especially those of you stuck on the drink-slinging side of the bar when it's the weekend for the rest of us. Your nights out come ‘round when the work week begins.

If you're looking for a watering Advertisementhole that's not your own, check out one of the local Industry nights, when drinks are cheap (just for you), and the company is sympathetic. No matter who's behind the bar or taking your order, they feel your pain and can likely share in your inside gossip.

Here are a few places to go on your next "weekend." Don't forget to tip. (Like you'd forget to tip.)

Sunday: Lux Lounge (666 South Ave, 232-9030)

Sunday is already burn-your-own-burger night at Lux, and unofficial game night (the games - Chutes and Ladders, Life, and more - are technically available all week long). But S.I.N. - Service Industry Night - is yet another reason to stop in. S.I.N. is not about debauchery (unless you want it to be), but about the kindly people at Lux's appreciation of their fellow service-industry men and women. We can't print specific drink discounts here, but trust me, the drinks are a steal. Check out lux666.com for details. Oh, and if you don't already know Karrie and the gang, bring a pay stub from your workplace so you can prove the authenticity of your service-industry laborer claim.

Monday: Monroe Ave

If restaurants or bars close one day a week, it's usually Monday. So you'd think Monday night - some people's Saturday - would be a big industry night. And it is, just not officially. So if you're headed out on Monday, you're gonna have to get in on the same specials as everybody else. Try the Monroe Ave area, where thirsty souls can drink cheap pints at the Bug Jar (219 Monroe Ave, 454-2966), share pitchers with friends at O'Callaghan's Pub (470 Monroe Ave, 271-7190), or stop by the Sports Page (499 Monroe Ave, 271-8460) for further Monday night specials on pints, pitchers, and bottles.

Tuesday: The Grill at the Strathallan (550 East Ave, 461-5010)

The Grill at Strathallan is usually a chill, classy place to toss back a few, especially if you like your drinks nice and strong. If you're a bartender-type, take the sting off the cost by swinging by on Tuesday nights, the bar's new Industry Night. The Strath offers drink discounts from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m., and specials on appetizers, too. Though live jazz usually only comes with the experience Thursdays through Saturday, there are plenty of other ways to enjoy this lounge-style bar, like playing the guess-who's-a-guest-at-the-hotel game. There's also an outdoor patio opening as the weather warms. And in case you haven't been here before: don't wear a ratty t-shirt. Unless you don't want to fit in anyway.
