Mar 28, 2011 - This was my worst meal ever. We stopped for a quick dinner, wanting to use the $20 coupon we got with a Delta Sonic car wash deal before it expired. In retrospect, we should have let it expire. When we finally saw our waiter (he was extremely slow, and had to be reminded to bring us silverware!), I ordered the Chicken "Sizzling Skillet Fajitas". I don't know what he brought us 20 minutes later, but it certainly wasn't Fajitas. It included Cajun blackened chicken, topped with wonton strips, on a bed of rice, broccoli, and snap peas. We would have sent it back, but our waiter disappeared after setting down our plates, and we were in a rush. I ate a few bites of this very spicy, strange concoction, and decided that was enough. I wanted to leave plenty of room for a visit to Abbots Ice Cream, to wash away the taste of this awful dish. We saw a nearby table send out a search party for our waiter, after being told they could not pay at the bar. We got our check, paid for our drinks and an unearned tip, and left as quickly as possible. Never to return. Ever. We just checked out the Applebee's website menu, and still can't find anything like this dish. Maybe the cook was out of ingredients for Fajitas, and decided to toss some Bourbon Street Chicken into the base used for the Sizzling Asian shrimp skillet and hope nobody noticed. It wasn't Fajitas, but it was a meal I'll never forget. No matter how hard I try.

We had a bad experience at Applebees in Greece and for some unknown reason our e mail complaint went to the Irondequot restaurant. The Manager, Dan called us two days later and offered to comp us a meal even though the problem was not at the restaurant under his management. We will take up his offer and post our experience. I believe he was very sincere in wanting people to be happy with their dining experience at Applebee's,
