In the quaint Park Ave area you'll find Bacco's, a house refurbished into an old-style Northern Italian kitchen. Inside you'll find a quiet and intimate setting with excellent service and food with a homemade touch. Chef/owner Georges Vindigni is the son of an Italian father and French mother, and spent most of his youth living in the South of France cultivating his fine cooking skills. At Bacco's, all the pastas, sauces, and desserts are made in house, not to mention the complimentary, outstanding bruschetta

2 of us dined here on a Saturday evening and one of us really liked his entree.
He had what he referred to as an "Alfredo", which appeared to be made with a bechamella/white sauce, as they tend to do it in Rochester. He really liked it. I had fish and both the fish and the vegetables accompanying it were uninspired and not well-seasoned. Very little flavor. But the gentleman loved his white-sauced pasta.

After reading a review in another local publication I was eager to try this established Rochestarian restaurant once and for all. My closest friend and I went on a blistery cold night and were joyous at the cozy and warm atmosphere we felt as we entered. This was not their first trip, but it had been long enough for them not to know what to expect. So their expectations were as high yet neutral as mine. Our server was charming and attentive; refilling our glasses of wine so much that we never once lifted the bottle. Their price point was very reasonable, considering that many if not all of the menu items were made per order and entirely by scratch. We ordered three appetizers and one entrée, the Risotto special, and shared them all, starting with the Melenzana Napoleon (eggplant napoleon) and Green & Beans. The eggplant dish was extremely dense and rich. I could have stopped there. The sauce was creamy and spicy, but I could not get over how much oil the breaded eggplant contained. The greens and beans were much milder and a nice change of flavors. However, they were almost too subtle. For instance, I would have liked some fresh shavings of Parmesan to add some punch. Our “second course” included the Risotto special, which that night happened to be calamari and zucchini, alongside the Polenta Gorgonzola. The risotto was my favorite part of the meal. The calamari was perfectly cooked; tender texture far from rubbery, and included even baby calamari tentacles. For being out of season, the zucchini was surprisingly sweet and cooked just right still having a slight bite. The polenta I could have done without completely. It happened to be placed right in front of me so I couldn’t help but consume a good portion. But the cheese sauce was heavy and had solidified by the time we had taken a couple bites. Sadly, the polenta had a gritty texture, far from smooth and creamy. Would I go back? Maybe with a larger group of friends. We excluded any pasta dish from our orders, so it’s possible that is their strong suit. We also steered clear from protein entrees, for the sake of my vegetarian friend and none-too-pleasing fish specials. I love home-style Italian eateries with a touch of gourmet, and expected Bacco’s to fit into such classification.
