Bazil's was opened by the owners of Mario's Italian Steakhouse, as a local alternative to the Olive Garden chain. This Henrietta location was the first to open, followed by this Penfield-Webster location on Irondequoit Bay, several years later. The food, service and atmosphere are superior to its nationally recognized competitor.

This restaurant disappoints. It is scary to get in and out of - Empire Blvd is so busy there - so be careful. This is the NOISIEST restaurant I have ever been in. Something is severely wrong with the acoustics in there. Food is boring; really, I can make better Italian food at home with boxed pasta and a jar of Ragu. Service is OK. Save your money and got to Proietti's instead.
