A tiny store on the canal with a huge crowd outside, Bill Wahl's is a Pittsford institution. Sit on the ice-cream-stained patio with the junior sports teams, or walk on the canal path with the ducks. While it's an independent, made-on-site place, the selection is chain-store sized. If you can answer the trivia question, you get a free kiddie cone. Cash only.

Ever since new owner Tom Frisina has taken over, things haven't been the same. I ordered a ice cream cake for my son's birthday on a Wednesday, and when I called Friday to confirm it, they had written down my son's name and age wrong. My sister-in-law picked the cake up on the way to his birthday party, and when we opened it, their was blue and green frosting smudged on half the cake. When i finally spoke to Tom (Wednesday) to let him know that I was a little disappointed in the cake, he had an attitude and was condescending. It is to bad that this man is treating customers like this and ruining a good man's name that is on the front of his store. Bill Wahl new what customer service was about, and it's to bad Tom didn't learn any of that from Bill before he passed away.
