Great fresh fish, great fish fry, great prices. Father and son Jim and Bill Seremetis get it all right. A City Newpaper Critic’s Choice for the best fish fry in town. But the menu is deeper than you think. Try a daily special: Greek haddock with marinara and feta on Tuesday, salmon or sole stuffed with spinach and feta on Wednesday, or crab cakes on Thursdays. Warm up the cold months with shrimp or lobster bisque. You can’t go wrong, and most items are well under 10 bucks.

Just got take-out and, once again, it was excellent. We probably eat Capt Jim's every two or three months. Always terrific. Tonight, we got two pieces of fried fish, and some fried shrimp. SO tasty, and the batter was absolutely perfect. By far, the best fish fry in Rochester. They also have excellent salads, like cole slaw and potato, but the fish is what we go for.

I have been frequenting Captain Jims for almost 4 yrs now. It is the BEST fish fry in town and the prices are equally great!!!! I tell everyone about the place and they end up loving it as well.

By far the best fish fry in the city! Been eating at captain jims for years and have never been disapointed. I highly recommend giving it a try.

I stopped at Captain Jim's around 3pm (not a busy time!) for 2 dinner to go. I specifically did not order ahead because I wanted a "cooked to order, fresh, HOT dinner." My dinners were ready so fast, that it made me wonder when did they have the time to COOK them!
I live less than 5 minutes from Captain Jim's, but when I got the dinners home, the french fries were STONE COLD and obviously had been sitting around. It really spoiled what could have been a great meal, and makes me think twice about returning to a place that apparently didn't care about the quality of their food.
Too bad really, I could have become a "regular!"
My opinion is thumbs down for fish fry, unless you like them COLD.
