This inexpensive diner on Park Avenue has cozy booths, a blackboard sporting daily specials, and a warm, neighborhood atmosphere. The Horny Toad is a classic dish, with ground beef, chili, and cheese on an English muffin. The hot meatloaf sandwich will warm a body on the coldest day.

I used to like Charlie's but it has fallen to the bottom of my list. The past two visits have been awful. The food has been cold, greasy and just plain old gross. I can only hope that everyone else's experiences prove to be as good as the other reviewers, I am taking a break for a long time.

This place is great on so many levels. First the atmosphere just makes me smile; how can frogs on sunshine-yellow wallpaper not? Second, I'd describe the menu as good food made well at a good price. A lot of places just don't get that right. I have ordered the spinach and mushroom AKA Charlie's Omelette a number of times because it's simply so good, fresh and not greasy. Lastly, the staff is always friendly and attentive. It's one of my favorite places to bring friends and family from out of town.
