“Chilango” is slang for “dude from Mexico City,” or something like that. Ricardo Jordan is the dude in question, and the man has a serious affinity for stewing meats with various peppers. He has mojo. Try barbacoa (flank steak slowly braised with guajillo chiles), pork adobo (with ancho and pasillo peppers), or pork tomatillo tinged with chipotle peppers. You like salsa? Ricardo makes five. Or seven. Lots. Sangria often available as a special on the weekends.

Now that Chilangos has moved into its New location, the long waits are gone. We had a table of 6 on 6/19 and had a Great time! Beer was cold, I ordered a Beef Brisket Burrito that was Very Tasty. The Mexican Pesolli soup app. was very good.
Nice Job on the news digs.

This is by far the best Mexican restaurant that I've found up since moving here from Texas. Still not perfect but I really like the fact that the owners are very involved and this is really a mom-and-pop type of restaurant which is one of the few I've found here in Rochester. I highly recommend it.

Chilangos is a family favorite! We've always loved it, but now that they've moved into a larger setting it's even more enjoyable to eat there. Great food, very good service, beautiful atmosphere. I recommend Chilangos frequently to friends and family.

Get the drunken fish, excellent; the roasted garlic is so sweet, you hardly know its garlic. The tilapia in the dish is moist and flavorful. While not on the menu anymore, ask for the fish taco's, excellent as well! And make room for the flan; another excellent choice. The food is quite excellent. The service is good, though they did something rather rude and odd; on a busy night, they wouldn't let us do take-out; i'd have thought that they'd jump at the chance; another paying customer, but not one taking up a valuable table.....so we left. But the food is great.
