I was actually fairly pleasantly surprised by this place, but not the first time I went there. Although they DO make good cocktails, the first time I went there, I ordered one of the "other" dishes (steak tips in some sort of gravy-forgot what they called it), and it was bland and just short of awful. My comanion, however, ordered the delmonico steak, and said it was pretty good, so that's what I ordered the next time. The steak is only choice, so don't expect it to be lean. OTOH, it is juicy and very tasty. Oh, the price is good, too. So, if you go to Delmonicos, only order the steak (and drinks). The other dishes, from what I've seen, look to be pre-packaged and crappy. The steak, however, is worth it.

Some appetizers are surprisingly good. Try the escarole and the calamari and see if you don't agree. Portions are generous so after that you don't really need more dinner. I'll go back for those two. Yum. I also liked the fun party atmosphere. Not the place for a quiet, intimate dinner. But if you're from a big family, you'll feel right at home.

Food is fine but it's slow coming and very noisy in there--difficult to talk even on a weeknight.

As a previous employee of Delmonico's, I feel the need to express my pride in the establishment. There is absolutely nothing "pre-packaged" about the food served in this restaurant. Everything is homemade, prepared in the kitchen and cooked to order. Even the steaks are cut on premise. The quality of the food is top-notch, and the kitchen is the cleanest I've ever seen. You know it's a good restaurant when the employees come in to eat on their days off!
Being a former employee, I can attest to Delmonico's pride in customer service. Managers are always present in the dining room, going the extra mile to make sure that every guest leaves happy.
Try it out...you won't be disappointed.
