Craving a quesadilla? Hungry for an enchilada? El Dorado is an old-fashioned taqueria, serving authentic Mexican cuisine. Come in for a chicken, pork, or steak taco. Try a torta - a Mexican sandwich served with beans, tomato, avocado, lettuce, and sour cream. If you're really hungry, opt for one of El Dorado's dinner plates. Choose from a steak or chicken fajita, the barbacoa (shredded beef), or the gisado de puerco (pork on red salsa). Each dinner plate is served with rice, beans, salad, sour cream, and guacamole. El Dorado also serves burritos, tostadas, flautas, and taco salads. Much of the menu is unapologetically in Spanish, but the owners will be happy to translate for you.

The food was good, and so was the price, but the menu was a bit limited, with few "mix and match" choices. Also, there needs to be more explanations for people unfamiliar with true Mexican cooking.
The restaurant itself looked worn and sad, and cleanliness was spotty at best. I think this place is in a bad location, and doubt they'll be able to make it here.

The restaurant space is still taking shape (it was an old pizza place previously?) but the food is wonderful and authentic! The owner/chef truly cares about the food and it shows. The cooking area is up front and visible and it is a delight to watch him cook. My personal favorite is the Al Pastor Tortas!

My son and I needed a lunch spot near the airport today, and found El Dorado on the net... and what a find it was!
A small place in a strip mall, but recently remodeled, the owner said. The owner/ chef greeted us and asked if we needed any suggestions. We decided to go with his recommendations, and got pork tacos with rice and beans. The wait for our lunch was filled with a fine basket of tortilla chips and salsa.
When the meal arrived, it was excellent. The presentation was beautiful (I wish I could post a photo), The beans and rice were great- sprinkled with Queso Blanco, the tacos were filled with a tasty pork, herbs, tomato, and a light touch of lime.
Too bad I live 80 miles away- this would be a favorite spot. Great food, fine surroundings, and inexpensive to boot... you can't go wrong!

We all ate there and the place is excellent! Going back to what Alex said 6/9/09 the place has changed alot and it is beautiful the owner/chef put a lot of heart and soul into it as well as with the food. I think if you havent been there since last year you should revist it. You will be glad you did :-)

El Dorado is one of Henrietta's best kept secrets! The restaurant has gone through several visual changes since it opened in Dec 2008. The decor is bright and cheerful and is like a step into Mexico. The food is Authentic Mexican cuisine at its best. It is home cooked Mexicancomfort food. The owner/chef takes pride in everything he serves and will try to accommodate every request. Eat in or take out, the choice is yours.
Everything is made fresh and to order. There is the usual Mexican fare - burritos, enchiladas, flautas, tacos, quesadillas, fajitas as well as some interesting and tasty tortas (Mexican sandwiches). My favorite is the torta chorrizo (Mexican sausage. If quesadillas are your pleasure, you have to give the quesadilla Bravada a try. The flavors are unlike anything you have experienced in Mexican food. Try it with bacon! If you prefer something less spicy, ask for it without jalapenos.
For dinner, El Dorado offers some excellent plates and something a little different from the usual fare. The Mole (chicken) is a perfect blend of chocolatey flavors . The Carnitas (pork) are tender and flavorful. Carne Asada (steak). My favorite - Gisado de puerco (pork) is cooked with some unusual spices that I just can't get enough of. YUMMY! Caremlo cooks from the heart and it shows both in the food and the presentation.
If you work in the area, stop in for lunch. Not sure what to order? Try the new lunch buffet Tues-Thurs. This is a great way to try different things. Mexican soda is available to compliment your meal.
The staff will welcome you warmly and will make you feel as if you in their home.
Nelson, a recent new member of the staff, is a excellent waiter and eager to serve you and answer any questions you may have about the menu.
If you have not yet discovered this diamond in the rough, or if you have not been here in a while, you owe it to yourself to visit El Dorado Mexican Cuisine and experience the real taste of Mexico.
