A City Newspaper Critic's Choice for value, El Latino is also delicious. A large dinner of roast pork with lots of rice, a bowl of beans, cabbage or salad, and plantains is just $9 and would feed a small family. That roast pork is outrageous, but the other stewed meats are also great. Try the homemade hot sauce on everything.

El Latino has moved up to Chili Ave, but the food, staff, hot tables and salsa music have remained constant. Arguably one of the best food values in the area, the roast pork is sublime, as are the home made salsa's. For a decidely anti-vegan rush, try some of the pork skin with your meal. I just wish they'd turn the music down a little.
