The Erie Grill looks out on the State Barge Canal in Pittsford.Elk is one of the features on the dinner menu, a rare sight on local menus.In addition to the regular lunch and dinner menu, the Grill offers an all-day menu until 11 p.m. that is available at the bar or for room service in the hotel.

I have been here on two occasions. The first time was for a business meeting with someone who was staying at the attached hotel. It was very good and I went back a week or two later with my wife. Everything was very good; decent portions and very tasty. The menu seems a bit limited. The menu consists of a decent selection of salads, a medium sized selection of appetizers and what appears to be two main entr?©e groups, water (fish, shellfish and duck) and meat (steaks and, I believe, a pork chop dish). I had crabcakes on one occasion and a steak on the other. The crabcakes were very good, as good as I‚Äôve tasted anywhere else. Definitely a couple of steps above the generic tasting mass produced cakes served at theme type restaurants. They were served on a bed of greens that were slightly wilted, but very flavorful with grilled tomatoes. The second time I had steak which was pretty good. Service was good; prompt but not fussy. I would definitely recommend it as a place for a nice meal and plan to go again soon. The only drawback is that the tables are fairly small and the chairs were not that comfortable. Oh yeah, it‚Äôs a bit pricey too.
