Esan is a small Thai place on Park Avenue, owned by the same people as Kobay, the Japanese restaurant next door. You can sit at either place and order off of either menu. My buddy Leon, an aficionado of som tom, the spicy green papaya salad, says this place has the best.

A safe bet for any kind of thai food. Cooking style is clean, not greasy. Brown rice would be nice. The atmosphere could use a good deal of work.
