Grandpa Sam's serves Italian food, from old standbys like chicken parm, lasagna, and an endless bowl of spaghetti and meatballs, to more inventive fare, such as the restaurant's selection of ravioli (shrimp and roasted garlic, roasted butternut squash, roasted wild mushroom, and fire-roasted veggie stuffed are just a few versions). Other menu items include pizzas -- create your own, or choose from white garlic, meat, and quattro stagione (you'll find prosciutto, olives, mushrooms, and artichokes on this one) -- Grandpa's Mugliulati (an appetizer roll stuffed with pork, spices, and sharp cheese), and more. Grandpa Sam's also has kid's and senior's menus with smaller portions and alternates to larger entrees. There's a fish fry and clam fry on Fridays. Grandpa Sam's also caters and offers space for private parties.

We stopped at this restaurant recently (3/22/09) while traveling between Lockport, Albion and Livonia and it was a great delicious surprise! We ordered the Mugliulati appetizer and it was out of this world. I had the best meatballs I've ever had, my husband had a delicious Chicken Saltimbocca. The family style salad was very good as well. The dessert ....a delicious cannoli had something very special added to it, that made it out of this world. All of it was served promptly and artistically. We think this restaurant should have a fancier name (sorry Grandpa Sam) because it sounds more like a dinner than the diamond it is. We will definitely make the drive to come back.

We go quite often and are proud to have such a distinguished restaurant in the village we reside in! My daughter especially LOVES their Chicken French (I had to work on my recipe to make it close to theirs!) Also, try the Arancini appetizer.....unique and wonderful!
