This is the site of the venerable Maplewood Inn, the almost-daily dining and drinking destination for several generations in Brighton and Pittsford. After a massive renovation, it has become Hawthorne's restaurant. Try the watermelon barbeque burger, the portobella gruyere burger, or the meat lovers' pizza (pepperoni, bacon, ham, sausage, and mozzarella cheese) for a light meal. Or sample one of Hawthorne's chicken, steak, or fish entrees, like the chicken liberty (the restaurant's classic chicken French served with artichokes and a lemon sherry sauce), for a more filling meal.

The food was awful when my family went over the holidays. The bread was so hard it hurt to chew. 2 out of 5 of us could eat our meal. The service was good, but we will never go there again
