This super-bright restaurant is dressed up to resemble a 50's era diner, complete with the requisite display of pies and cakes. The booths are roomy, and since the diner is located across from the dollar theater, it's a convenient stop for post-flick burgers and shakes.

Jays diner has been there for me for many years and long enough for me to know it is the best diner in Rochester. They have a wide range of dishes be it breakfast, lunch, or dinner. If you have not tried their Thanksgiving plate, you definitely should. The waitress staff is outstanding!!

This diner is absolutely revolting. The food is appalling and the service is not much better. They've been skating on goodwill from late-nighters and smokers for years and it's shocking that they're still around. Being dragged here with some smoking friends and sitting in the "fishbowl" that they had for a while (plexiglas-enclosed area for smokers, thick with smoke) was certainly the worst dining experience of my life.

We love Jays Diner. Its not the kind of place you'll find people reading Joyce, and they don't serve sushi or dishes requiring a foreign language dictionary to pronounce. Not too much arugula, either. But if you want a true Americana, blue collar diner, its Jays.
