A vibrant restaurant with equally enticing food, Los Amigos is one of the best Mexican places in Rochester. Order a la carte or try one of the specials, like Costillas Asadas --- grilled baby-back ribs rubbed in special seasonings, grilled, topped with Los Amigos' chipotle sauce, and served with one red chicken enchilada, refried beans, Spanish rice, and flour tortillas.

I agree with Kevin. Not worth the drive for us from the west side. I have been looking for decent food with decent service for a while and still have not found it at Los Amigos. Pitiful portion sizes, appetizers were so so but very processed, and over priced

I'm surprised this place is still even open, considering how long they've been making awful food there! My experience was from about 3 years ago, when we were served warm margaritas in filthy, greasy glasses, and the food was also pretty bad. The refried beans had been sitting so long, they had become crusty! The rest of the food tasted like it came out of some "Old El Paso" microwave entrees from the supermarket. Service was slow, surly, and ignorant (but at least nobody tried to fake chicano heritage the night we went). There WERE a couple people who LOOKED like they MIGHT actually be Mexican working the register, but otherwise, you wouldn't know from the help. Oh, sure, there was the tacky "Mexican border town cantina" decor inside, and they were playing "hispanic" tunes (Note: "El Condor Pasa" is an Andean tune, and "Guantanamera" is Cuban, neither are Mexican, yet that's what they were playing...), and there were lots of crappy nacho chips at the bar, but that was about it. From what I could see of the bar (downstairs), this must be where they make their money, serving watered-down margaritas to ignorant fools. It looked like 4 or 5 of their bar patrons were well on their way to getting totally trashed, so perhaps that's the client?Ūle they are catering to.

An overall terrible outing. We're huge authentic Mexican cuisine fans. When entering the eatery we were greeted by a white woman with a fake Mexican accent that changed when she spoke with her co-workers. The food wasn't worth 4.00 let alone the 16.00 price; the grilled chicken and ingredients were clearly processed in a factory somewhere. The ice in our drinks was broken off from a block, and if I remember correctly: RC Cola products. Just an overall poor experience, thank God we had a coupon for one free meal.
