Mysore Woodlands ripped out the kitchen and renovated what used to be India Palace. Now, the new South Indian and North Indian cuisine restaurant is open daily, and offers a full menu of of chicken, lamb, seafood, Tandoor, Biryani, and Indian bread dishes, with an array of other choices including Dosa (thin rice crepe) specials, Indian Uthappam (Indian style pancake) dishes, vegetarian curries, and house specials like Chana Batura (large puffy bread served with channa masala). Appetizers include Dhai Vada (fried lentil donuts dipped in yogurt), Paneer Pakora (homemade cottage cheese sticks dipped in batter and fried), and Iddli (steamed rice and lentil patties). Mouth-watering desserts include Rasamalai (homemade cottage cheese in condensed milk, flavored with rose water and garnished with pistachio nuts), Carrot Halwa (grated carrots cooked in honey and butter; you can also get it with ice cream), and rice pudding, plus something called "Madras Special Payasam" -- vine vermicelli cooked in milk and honey and garnished with raisins and cashews.

The whole dining experience was ok except for the rude old waiter; he seems to be the owner. He looks like he is in his mid 50s doesn’t care to smile. He has done all the things a waiter should never do, to mention a few
1) Yawn loud
2) Keep a serious face
3) Make noise with the silverware
4) Pour wine by holding the neck of the bottle
Unfortunately we got him as our server, he did not care to come and check if we needed anything, didn’t care to say “thank you” or “you’re welcome”. Well to keep it short doesn’t know how to behave in front of people.
At one point we saw him come inside through the main entrance and he did c a young lady carrying a baby entering the restaurant, he didn’t even bother to hold the door for the lady. The lady was shocked and we saw her shake her head in disbelief
If this guy is gone this Indian restaurant may survive

Had the New Year's Eve buffet and was extremely impressed with the food. All sorts of items that are not on the standard Indian menu in Rochester were available, and most were exceptionally good. Our server had little affect, but did a fine job of taking care of us. The decor leaves something to be desired, but the quality and variety of the food more than makes up for it. I would rate it as one of the best Indian restaurants in the city.
