Wegmans’ newest restaurant venture provides a casual, fun atmosphere in an eclectically decorated space almost double the size of its predecessor, Tastings. Chris Brandt remains executive chef, calling the cuisine New American, but also noting the heavy Japanese influence, as evidenced by the two robata grills centrally located to serve as entertainment while patrons watch their food being prepared. The dishes are diverse, including tapas, thin-crust pizzas, burgers, fries, more exotic fare like sushi and sashimi, and a range of innovative entrees such as braised veal cheeks, seared black bass, and hearth-baked mac ‘n' cheese. Prices range greatly, from as low as $2 for a piece of sashimi to $24 for the ribeye steak. The bar and party rooms underscore the lush decor. The u-shaped, posh carved bar is flanked by rooms adorned with leather couches and privacy curtains, as well as "the red room," which can be booked for private parties, allowing guests to hook up their own iPod to control the playlist. And then there’s the test kitchen, a private room with its own professional kitchen where guests can engage in cooking demonstrations, wine tastings, and more.
Located across the street from Pittsford Wegmans, Next Door Bar and Grill is open daily for dinner and cocktails. Walk-ins welcome, but reservations are highly recommended.

This resteraunt is exactly what we needed in Rochester. Something different,fun, and delicious. If you want great beautiful atmosphere different and thought out food with amazing wine and beer. This is you place.

compared to other places ,the burger and fries are better than any where else,the price is the same as pizzeria unos and there burger shrunk 50% in size my son was so disappointed he didnt want to go back, with the atmoshere you cant compare the two and there burger is 10$- wow to much

Great place to be!! Fun managers and servers, great chefs, they take care of you from the moment you walk in that door till you leave, they make sure u leave with a smile

The best part about Next Door Bar and Grill is its versatility... if you want to meet some friends for happy hour in jeans, you can do it. If you're out on a date and want a taste of everything, no problem. If you want to impress a client with a chef's tasting menu... done. Thanks to the fun and funky atmosphere, you can have any type of experience you want. The food is approachable and diverse... They pull off mac and cheese with flair, AND you won't find better sushi anywhere else in Rochester. You can go casual or fine dining, or anywhere in between. The wine list covers a broad spectrum without killing your bank account, and if you are into cocktails, the bartenders can accommodate every need.
When you add the high standards that Wegmans is known for, you get one of the best restaurants in Rochester!
