The Northside, owned and operated by the same family since 1949, is an enormously popular, home-style, Italian-American restaurant. The people who swear by it really swear by it (and they'll kill for the gnocchi). If you're an aficionado of places like Mama Rosa's or Proietti's, give the Northside a try as well. If you haven't been in a while, it was renovated in 2003.

Is there a new chef? I took my two daughters, their spouses and my wife for a birthday dinner .
Where to start; the Caesar salad was not good. The clams casino were not cooked, the bread stuffing was soggy. (The waitress even apologized for them not being cooked and then walked away) The Veal Marsala was AWFUL! The veal was so full of grizzle that I had to spit out the first two bites into my napkin and I couldn't even cut the second piece with a steak knife. I had to apologize to everyone after dinner.
I just talked to one of my daughters this morning and she and her boyfriend both had cramps and diarrhea at around 3 a.m. (They had Chicken Parm and Fettuccine Alfredo.)
This is not the Northside of old. The worst $220 I've ever spent. I will never go back!
