Perlo's is in the region's center of Italian American dining, East Rochester. Although a casual restaurant, it is the most sophisticated ethnic dining establishment in the village. Donna Perlo is the owner and greets customers at the door. Family photos highlight the personal touch that she brings to the restaurant.

The food here is always good. They have 3 or 4 different versions of calamari, with the fried versions always light and crunchy. Main dishes are all less than $20 each, and are always well-prepared, never greasy. The only complains I have about this restaurant are the hard, uncomfortable and slick chairs. Also, the bartender isn't very good-our server actually had to ask us how to make a Negroni (in an Italian restaurant, no less!).

My fiance and I visited Perlos for the first time this month. We had the greens and beans as an appetizer, which was great. I had the chicken parmesan, which was good, but the red sauce was lacking. My fiance has the chicken french, which she enjoyed. The wait staff was a little too relaxed, it took our waitress about 10 minutes to get to our table to take our drink order. Would we go back again? Absolutely!
