The menu at Pier 45 offers eight starters to choose from, including goat-cheese-and-chorizo-filled empanadas served with gazpacho dipping sauce, as well as smoked salmon served on a warm scallion potato pancake with chive sour cream, and blackened mahi tacos served with soft tortillas, lemon coleslaw, fresh guacamole, and lime. For a light meal, or for your first course, sample the tortilla soup with cilantro lime cream and avocado, the seared jumbo crab cake served with mango and avocado salad, or the southwest Boston bibb salad (roasted peppers, marinated black beans, sliced chicken, charred corn, tomatillo dressing). Pier 45 dishes up 12 main plates. Try the pan-seared sea bass medallions served with a three-tomato salad, or jerk marinated chicken. Sides are served family style, and you'll have eight options to muddle over. So whether you come to a consensus, or choose to try the garlic fries, the mushroom acini de pepe, or the portobello "steaks" with wilted spinach, your family will have plenty to squabble about as you make your selection.

We just stopped to see the new restaurant Pier 45, we only live a mile from the beach. We had a drink at the bar & took a walk on the deck outside it was a great view and the drinks were great. We decided to have dinner after looking at the menu and I am so glad we did. The Mahi tacos as an appitizer were fantastic, we also shared the corn chowder, crab cakes & a main meal of the veal cutlets, I can't even begin to describe how delicous everything was. Dessert was unbelievalbe, they had a combination of 5 different chocolate desserts. It was a piece of choc. cake, pudding, 2 cookies (choc.) & 2 choc. fudge balls & choc. sorbet. We can hardly wait to go back again.

What a wonderful addition to the now 'defunct' international ferry terminal. The outdoor seating is absolutely the #1 draw.
The food was very pleasing as well. The crab cakes and accompanied salsa were exceptional. My friend and I also tried the empanada appetizer but didn't find it above average. Both of our main courses were very tasty and definitely worth the 'reasonable' price.
This IS the restaraunt to be 'seen' in as of now- which explains the somewhat overwhelmed staff and sometimes slow but dedicated service.
Give it a try. Time will tell how this 'summertime' place fares year round.
