The Red Osier is out in the country, west of LeRoy.For decades it has drawn customers from both Rochester and Buffalo for its prime rib and lobster tails. It is a true steakhouse, with far more character and quality than the popular chain steakhouses. The Moore family developed special tableside carving stations many years ago, and continue to innovate with Red Osier sandwiches at festivals and the baseball stadium.

Do people really like this place? I couldn't even give it one star. One of the WORST meals ever! They are supposed to be known for their prime rib---it was simply awful. In fact, there was not one good thing about the meal, it was all dreadful. I can't believe how much business they do. I mean, if you're going to specialize in something (prime rib), then get it right. And, I was really horrified when the waiters were walking around with big pitchers of "au jus" which they were more than happy to pour all over your plate. It wasn't "au just" at all---just bouillon. Disgusting.

Not sure where Jeff B ate, but the Red Osier is amazing. Excellent meat and seafood. Huge wine selection and a great atmosphere. Check for coupons because they have great specials. The prime rib is the best around!!!
